Driver Fined After Runaway Truck Crash In Edmonds
The tractor-trailer rolled away from its operator and crashed into an Edmonds home on Monday.

EDMONDS, WA - Police have solved the case of the infamous Edmonds runaway tractor-trailer. The operator of the truck, according to Edmonds police, is facing a $191 fine for improperly operating the vehicle.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. Monday when workers were picking up a backhoe from a construction site near 11th Place North and Viewland Way. The tractor-trailer rolled away from them and they couldn't stop it.
The tractor-trailer crossed Olympic Avenue and into the yard of a home where just moments earlier children were playing in the yard, according to Edmonds police. There was a child napping inside the home, but was not hurt in the incident.

The tractor-trailer also destroyed a utility pole, and forced police to close Olympic Avenue for much of the day Monday.
Edmonds police and Washington State Patrol investigated the incident. Police will not pursue criminal charges beyond the fine.
