Duwamish Dixieland Jazz Band Kicks of Summer Concert Series

The free show is Sunday at City Park.

The Duwamish Dixieland Jazz Band will kick off the 2012 on Sunday at 3 p.m. at City Park, Third Avenue South and Pine Street.

The concert, sponsored by the Edmonds Arts Commission, is free. Participants can bring lawn chairs or blankets.

The Duwamish Dixieland Jazz Band delivers the classic Dixieland sound heard on the streets and in the entertainment halls of New Orleans, playing jazz, blues, and traditional gospel. The group performs songs from the early 20th Century, from Dixieland and traditional New Orleans jazz to blues and swing.

This year’s Summer Concerts in the Park series is sponsored by Lynnwood Honda and Acura of Lynnwood. Concerts are presented by the Edmonds Arts Commission on behalf of the Edmonds City Council and are accessible to persons with disabilities.

In the event of rain, the concert will be cancelled at 2:30. The next Concert in the Park is July 15 and features Show Brazil performing traditional and contemporary Brazilian music and dance.
