E-W Grad Student: Sexual Identity Can Be Switched Back and Forth

Two graduates are making names for themselves in scholarly research and humanitarian causes.

Laura Case, a 2002 graduate of Edmonds-Woodway High School, is working on a research study with famed neuroscientist Vilayanur Ramachandran.

A graduate student of famed neuroscientist Vilayanur S. Ramachandran has found a group of men and women who report that their sexual identity can switch involuntarily to that of the opposite sex and back again. ... The preliminary study by Laura Case, Ramachandran’s student, raises the prospect of a new category of transgenderism.

Natacha Danon graduated from E-W in 2011 and now attends Bates College in Lewiston, ME.

Danon and a classmate at Bates College, both in their first year, received a $10,000 Davis Projects for Peace grant for a humanitarian project aimed at stimulating economic development in the district of Kanchipuram, in the state of Tamil Nadu, by marketing to U.S customers silk scarves made by local women.
