UPDATE: Joan Bloom Responds to D.J. Wilson's Posting of Her Earlier Endorsement: "I Changed My Mind"
Incumbent Wilson puts the spotlight on a letter to the editor Bloom wrote in 2007 that endorsed him. Bloom has a response for him.

UPDATE: Joan Bloom has responded to this article. You can read her comment at the end of the story.
Incumbent City Councilman D.J. Wilson is poking fun at his competition thanks to an old newspaper clipping he dug up.
On his website, Wilson posted a link to a letter to the editor in the Oct. 25, 2007, edition of the Edmonds Beacon. The letter is from Joan Bloom, who is running against Wilson for position No. 5 on the Edmonds City Council.

“Digging through some old clippings,” Wilson writes on his site, “I came across this interesting tidbit. It’s what my opponent had to say about me four years ago. I’ve trimmed off the last part for length here, but included a scanned copy of the original for your review.”
In the letter, Bloom says she’s voting for Wilson because of his plan for the Edmonds waterfront. At that time, Bloom was a participant in an Edmonds organization called the Waterfront Group. “In talking with DJ,” Bloom wrote, “I know that he is ready to continue with the planning process as long as necessary to do what’s best for Edmonds. I am certain the DJ Wilson will bring that attitude to every issue that comes before the City Council.”

To be fair to Bloom, she’s been an activist in Edmonds since 2004, where she runs the website Edmonds Forum.
Maybe she can find a story where Wilson praised her efforts with Edmonds Forum?
Here is Bloom's response to Wilson's posting of the letter:
"After four years of having him in office, I changed my mind sufficiently enough to choose to run against him. Show me a voter who's never changed his or her mind about any political office holder and I'll show you someone who doesn't learn from experience."
