Edmonds Educator Wins National Award For Book on School Volunteers
Paddy Eger has more than 20 years of experience in the Edmonds School District.

Edmonds author Paddy Eger, author of Educating America:101 Strategies for Adult Assistants in K-8 Classrooms, published by Tendril Press, topped the Education-Academic category of USA Book News Best Books 2011 Awards.ÂÂ
"I am excited and pleased about winning this award," said Eger. "With all the budget cuts and increased demands on teachers, volunteers who support our schools are vitally important. I hope the increased exposure of this unique guide will encourage adults across the country to step into classrooms. Their support is a piece of the solution for our challenging times in education."
The ideas for the book came from Eger's 20-year career in the Edmonds School District, including her years teaching and training in the PCEP, the district's parent cooperative school.
