Edmonds International Film Festival Looks to Expand Beyond Main Street

The Edmonds International Film Festival, which had its debut in October, will return for its second year and is looking to expand, said co-founder and festival director Trevor Greenfield.

"We are in negotiations with venues and partners to expand the festival to be much larger than last year," said Greenfield, who also was the festival director of the Lakedance International Film Festival in Sandpoint, ID. It was this festival that Greenfield moved to Edmonds.

Greenfield didn't specifically mention any other sites, but possible locations include the and the Wade James Theater, the latter home to the theater group.

The dates for the festival, held exclusively at the Edmonds Theater on Main Street in 2010, are Oct. 19-23.

Greenfield also announced that American Brewing Company, which had its official opening on Saturday in the Harbor Square Complex, has been named the official brewery of the Edmonds International Film Festival. Award-winning  brewmaster Skip Madsen will be making special beer for the occasion.

Award-winning filmmakers at the 2010 festival were Rick Steves, Jacque Mayo,  and Peter Besson. Adam Bronstein won the big prize for his "My Movie Girl."
