Edmonds Man Sentenced For Attempted Rape, Murder At Woodway Beach
A 60-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday for an attempted rape last June along a beach in Woodway.

EDMONDS, WA - A 60-year-old man who attacked a woman along a Woodway beach last June was sentenced on Tuesday to 19 years in prison, according to a report.
Charles F. Fisher of Edmonds was found guilty in January of second-degree rape and first-degree attempted murder and sentenced on Tuesday, according to KOMO News.
The attack happened along Woodway beach on June 26, 2016 around 5:30 p.m., just south of Marina Beach Park in Edmonds. Fisher allegedly approached the victim with his shirt off and told the woman he wanted to have sex with her. He then attacked her, punching her in the face and pinning her to the ground. He then began hitting her in the face with a rock.

The attacked continued, and Fisher threatened to drag the woman down the beach into the water to drown her. The attacked was interrupted by passersby who heard the woman screaming and called 911.
Fisher fled the scene toward Edmonds, but was later tracked down by a Lynnwood police K-9 unit.

After a five day trial, Fisher was found guilty by a jury on Jan. 24.
