Edmonds Marsh Community Planting Project
October 25th 10am-2pm - all are welcome to join!

EarthCorps and Friends of Edmonds Marsh, with support from the City of Edmonds, are calling the community to help improve Edmonds Marsh habitat. Edmonds Marsh is a unique asset to the City of Edmonds as it provides habitat for local and migrant birds and functions as a buffer that filters stormwater runoff before it drains into Puget Sound. Activities could include removing invasive plants, planting native species that provide more beneficial habitat for marsh wildlife and/or placing cardboard and mulch to increase moisture retention and decrease weed regrowth.
The Basics: EarthCorps supplies gloves, tools, water, light refreshments and volunteer education that covers safety, information on the park where you are working in, forest health, environmental restoration and the overview of the project. No prior experience is necessary, just come ready to learn something new! We run our projects rain or shine, so come prepared and check the weather! We suggest that you dress in layers of older clothes that include long pants, long sleeve shirt and a jacket. Durable footwear such as work boots, hiking boots or running shoes are recommended for these events. All volunteers are required to be wearing close-toed shoes at our projects.
