Edmonds Murder Suspect Arrested In Everett

The suspect was wanted in the Jan. 6 shooting death inside an Edmonds home.

EDMONDS, WA - A 22-year-old man wanted on connection to a Jan. 6 murder in Edmonds was arrested Tuesday night in Everett, according to police. Derrick Crawford is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder, Edmonds police said Wednesday.

On Jan. 6, a 27-year-old man was shot late at night inside a home along he 17700 block of 76th Avenue West. Other people living in the home heard the shot and called police. The victim was pronounced dead at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Edmonds police believe Crawford and the victim got into a fight over personal property.

On Jan. 10, police issued a bulletin seeking Crawford in connection to the murder. Crawford was arrested at an Everett home along the 6000 block of Broadway , which is south of the downtown area. Edmonds detectives and members of the Snohomish County Regional Task Force apparently found Crawford hiding in a closet.
