Edmonds PD Assists in Arlington Standoff

One suspect is dead, while another is on the loose.

A multiagency response to a standoff in Arlington that left one person dead on Sunday included an assist from the Edmonds police department, according to Shari Ireton of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

At about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, several law enforcement agencies, also including the Snohomish and King county sheriff's offices and Everett and Lynnwood police departments, responded to a 911 call of shots being fired in the 17000 block of Jim Creek Road.

One male adult victim had been shot in the leg and transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Due to the size and nature of the incident, the Department of Emergency Management contacted area residents and asked to stay inside their homes. One stretch of Jim Creek Road was closed for several hours to all traffic.

At about 8 p.m., the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART) confirmed that one suspect was dead and one weapon had been recovered.
