Man in Hot Tub Spots Burglary Attempt

After he calls 911, Edmonds Police arrest a Lynnwood woman hiding under a porch and recover a loaded gun that had been thrown away.

Edmonds Police have arrested a 31-year-old Lynnwood woman for vehicle prowling and attempted burglary, according to Sgt. Mike Blackburn.

On Monday at 9:24 a.m., police arrived in the 18000 block of 76th Avenue West after an attempted residential burglary was interrupted by the homeowner. The owner of the house was sitting in his outdoor hot tub when he saw a female suspect enter his backyard and attempt to enter his home through the back door.

When he confronted the suspect, she ran. As he called 911, the homeowner saw the lights on in his pickup truck, so he believed it may have been entered. When police arrived they discovered that stolen property included a loaded handgun.

Edmonds Police, with help from Lynnwood officers, began a search for the suspect. A police K-9 unit also responded to assist. During the search, property stolen from the victim’s vehicle was located after being discarded by the suspect. Among the items recovered along the suspect’s track was the stolen handgun.
