Edmonds School District: Preparing For Shortage Of School Bus Drivers After Monday, Oct. 18
See the latest announcement from the Edmonds School District.
10/07/2021
The district has a plan of action due to the number of drivers who have not turned in their vaccine verification or obtained a medical or religious exemption to comply with the governor’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Please see the table below for the specifics on which schools will lose busing in the three different scenarios we are prepared for. At approximately 4:30 p.m. the district will notify all families (in English and Spanish) who could potentially lose their school bus, so they can prepare for alternate ways to transport their students. Once we have the final number of school bus drivers we will lose early next week, we will send a followup message to families who will in fact lose their district-provided transportation. We will update and modify our plan as needed and know this is temporary until we can hire and train more drivers, which we are actively working on.
