Edmonds Homicide: Suspect Held On $1 million Bond

The woman died Monday, but her death was not ruled a homicide until Wednesday.

EDMONDS, WA - A local woman's death was ruled a homicide on Wednesday by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner, and her roommate is in jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.

David L. Hoar, 45, appeared in Snohomish County court Thursday, and a judge ordered he be held on a $1 million bond. According to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner, Hoar's roommate had sustained several blunt force injuries to her head.

Police responded to a home along the 8100 block of 236th Street Southwest Monday and found the 62-year-old woman dead inside. After an autopsy on Wednesday, the medical examiner determined that the woman suffered trauma and did not die of natural causes, police said.
