EDMONDS, WA - Police have arrested a 65-year-old Woodway man in connection to an explosion and fire that occurred at a home here early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to a fire at a home along the 9200 block of 224th Street around 3:30 a.m. A number of neighbors in the area called 911 after hearing an explosion, police said. Firefighters and police arrived to find the home's garage engulfed in flames; firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in about 20 minutes.
Neighbors told police that the home was vacant, and provided police with surveillance video showing a car leaving the scene after the fire. Police tracked the car to a home in Woodway, where the 65-year-old son of the owner of the fire-damaged Edmonds home lives.
