Fire Department Responses: A Bevy of Collisions

Snohomish County Fire District One makes 378 calls the week of March 1-7.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 378 calls the week of March 1–7: 313 emergency medical aid calls, 25 motor vehicle collisions, 19 fires, 8 service calls, four natural gas leaks and nine automatic fire alarms.

March 5

HOUSE FIRE: At 6:10 a.m., a house fire was reported in the 11400 block of N Dogwood Lane in Woodway. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The house is a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

March 6

COLLISION: At 2:13 p.m., a two-car collision occurred at 212th Street SW and 76th Avenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported two patients with minor injuries to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

March 7

BATHROOM FIRE: At 1:19 p.m., a small fire was reported in the bathroom of a home in the 5600 block of 144th Street SE east of Everett. The fire started when a lamp, set up to provide warmth to four baby chicks in the bathroom, came unclipped and fell on a plastic bin in the bathtub. Two of the chicks died and fire damage to the bathroom is estimated at $10,000.

COLLISION:  At 4:31 p.m., a car and a motorcycle collided at 212th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the injured motorcyclist to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 6:10 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at the corner of 148th Street SW and Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients with minor injuries to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
