Grenade Closes Edmonds Police Building, City Court
The Edmonds police headquarters is closed until the bomb squad can deal with the device.

EDMONDS, WA - A local citizen who brought a grenade to the police department Monday inadvertently spurred the closure of the police and court buildings. On Monday afternoon, a woman brought a grenade to police after finding it in her deceased husband's possessions. And that brought the state police bomb squad to Edmonds.
Police announced around 1:30 p.m. that the grenade had been brought to the police station. Police initially closed the parking lot outside the police station, but then decided to close the entire police building and Edmonds Municipal Court.
The Washington State Patrol bomb squad came and collected the device, and all the public buildings were reopened by about 3:45 p.m.

Change of plan. We have closed the PD front office and court. No public access right now. We will update when offices are back open.
