Guess the Close-up #3

The folks from Greencliff Landscape Company correctly guessed the name of our last close-up flower, one that's been busting out all over the place now, for a couple of weeks at least. Commonly called a snapdragon, it belongs to the family Antirrhinum. To find out what that name means and why it's appropriate, and to read a few words about the snapdragon from the novelist D.H. Lawrence, you can check out this "Flower Corner" post from a couple of weeks ago.

Inspired by that pastoralist and champion of fecundity, Mr. Lawrence, I took the above shots just today at a flower intersection that's really been a comer the past week--5th and Dayton.

Lately, we've had several of these flowers in bouquets around the house to inspire us with their scent. It shouldn't be hard at all to identify this one, if not from one picture, then from the other.
