Hazel Miller Plaza in Edmonds Gets a New Entry Sign

The newly completed in Edmonds is now sporting a entry sign designed just for the downtown park.

It reflects the design elements in the plaza and references the backyard wildlife habitat designation with a cluster of local bird images cut through the metal.

"This is a unique park in downtown Edmonds," and it welcomes visitors with an equally unique sign," said City of Edmonds Cultural Services manager Frances Chapin.

Completion of the plaza with fountain, decorative railing, pavers and planters of abundant flowers was made possible through the efforts of many community members and through a large donation from the Hazel Miller Foundation. 

The sign identifying the park was made possible by a local business, Forma, an environmental graphic design company, whose owner Clayton Moss personally designed and donated the sign.

"Moss knows the City standard for new parks signs, having worked on developing that standard several years ago," said Chapin. "But for this special gathering place in our downtown he offered his services pro bono to design and fabricate a sign for the City and it suits the space perfectly."
