Injured Seattle Man Rescued From Sloan Peak: Police
The man, 27, broke his ankle while climbing on Sunday, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

BEDAL, WA - A 27-year-old Seattle man was rescued from Sloan Peak Sunday after breaking his ankle while hiking. The rescue occurred on Sunday morning after the man fell during a climbing class. Scores of volunteers responded to the mountain - about 70 in total - after bad weather prevented the county's rescue chopper, SnoHAWK10, from picking up the hiker.
Snohomish County authorities were alerted to the emergency after a climbing instructor activated an emergency GPS beacon. An Air Force rescue center in Florida then contacted Snohomish County authorities to enact the rescue. Volunteers from Yakima Mountain Rescue, Chelan County Mountain Rescue, Everett Mountaineers, Seattle Mountaineers, and the Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue (BORSTAR) team also assisted.
Once the mountaineers were able to get the man to a lower elevation, he was picked up by a helicopter and taken to a hospital in Darrington.
