Is An Underpass a Good Idea for Edmonds?

A train that broke down on Wednesday night sharpens the focus of the debate.

On Thursday, about a BNSF train that broke down on Wednesday night, blocking access to and from the Edmonds waterfront for about 45 minutes.

This came just two weeks after the City-sponsored where Mayor Dave Earling officially proposed the idea of an underpass at Main Street to allow emergency access due to the increased number of trains expected to pass through the city in coming years.

Now, we'd like to know what Edmonds residents think. Is an underpass, estimated to cost between $60 million and $80 million, a good idea for Edmonds?
