Lust at the Edmonds Library: Nancy Pearl Is Coming to Town

In the Puget Sound world of books, she's a rock star. How do we know this?

Not only does she loves books, she lusts after them. She's Nancy Pearl, and she'll be the guest at the on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.

It was in 2003 that Pearl, the former executive director of the Washington Center for the Book at Seattle Public Library, published Book Lust: Recommended Reading for Every Mood, Moment, and Reason. The book, which tilts heavily to chick-lit and classics, became a bestseller locally and catapulted Pearl, now 66, to the heights of bibliophilic affection.

Like any author who has found success, Peal set about publishing more books, including a sequel to Book Lust and a version for kids and teenagers with a toned-down title: Book Crush.

Last year, Pearl released Book Lust to Go: Recommended Reading for Travelers, Vagabonds, And Dreamers.
