Man Accused Of Edmonds Murder Enters Plea: Report

Derrick Crawford, 22, allegedly shot his roommate in January at a home in Edmonds.

EDMONDS, WA - A 22-year-old man accused of shooting and killing his roommate in January has pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge, according to the Everett Herald. Derrick Crawford was arrested Jan. 16, found hiding in a closet at an Everett home.

Police responded to a home along the 17700 block of 76th Avenue West around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 on a report of a shooting. The caller, a resident of the home, reported hearing a gunshot come from the upstairs portion of the home.

The victim, a 27-year-old Joshua Werner, was pronounced dead at Harborview Medical Center.
Crawford fled the scene before police arrived.

Edmonds police reported that the shooting happened after Werner and Crawford got into an argument over property.
