Man Camping Along Skykomish River Found Dead

SULTAN, WA - Snohomish County authorities located the body of a 37-year-old man along the Skykomish River on Wednesday. The man, who is from Monroe, was camping on an island in the river, and his body was spotted by the sheriff's SnoHawk1 helicopter searching the area.

Police do not believe the man's death is suspicious, but a cause and manner of death are pending. The man was camping and canoeing along the Skykomish and had set up camp on the island. His family alerted authorities Wednesday after he didn't return home as planned.
