New Endowment Honors Student Killed in Mukilteo Mass Shooting
The scholarship fund will help University of Washington students pay for study-abroad programs.

BOTHELL, WA - The family of a University of Washington-Bothell student killed in a Mukilteo mass shooting in July has established a scholarship fund in her memory that will help other students pay to study abroad.
Anna Bui, 19, had returned from a trip to Europe a few weeks before the shooting, and she had aspirations to study abroad in Spain, her family said.
“She made an impact on everyone. I can see that in the community coming together. So we have to do something for her,” said Bui's sister, Anny.

Bui, 19, was killed along with two others at the July gathering in Mukilteo. Bui's apparent ex-boyfriend, Allen Ivanov, 19, has pleaded not-guilty to three counts of aggravated murder in connection with the shooting. If convicted, he faces the death penalty or life in prison.
Athough Bui's family established the endowment, community members are welcome to contribute to the Anna Bui World of Hope Fund. To learn more about Anna, the scholarship fund, or to contribute, visit the endowment homepage here.
