Pedestrian Train Death In Edmonds Was Suicide
A 33-year-old woman died Saturday night after being hit by a train in downtown Edmonds.

EDMONDS, WA - The woman killed by a train in downtown Edmonds Saturday night died by suicide, according to the Snohomish County Medical examiner.
The medical examiner did not identify the 33-year-old woman or reveal where she was from. According to police, the woman was hit by the train before 10 p.m. Saturday near Main Street. An investigation into the incident forced the closure of the ferry dock and Main Street.
The woman's suicide comes in the wake of the high-profile deaths of Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade. Also last week, the Centers for Disease Control released a report showing a sharp increase in suicides - more than 25 percent between 1999 and 2016 on average across the U.S.
