Woman Leading Fight Against Walgreens—And for Robin Hood Lanes

Activist Teri Terrano wants those opposed to Walgreens in Edmonds to "like" her new Facebook page. Signature drives are being held Tuesday through Thursday at the bowling alley.

Teri Terrano, who has lived in Edmonds her whole life, is a lifelong bowler who is in a league every Tuesday night at Robin Hood Lanes in the Westgate neighborhood.

That's one of the main reason she's created a Facebook page (Robinhood Lanes Against Walgreens) to fight and replace it with a new drugstore.

Terrano spent more than two hours in front of QFC on Monday, collecting signatures of those opposed to Walgreens. The vast majority of those signing her petition were against the drugstore but, to be fair, Terrano also had a separate sheet of paper for those who were for it.

Terrano said one person who showed support for Walgreens told her she was an employee of the drugstore.

The final tally: 135 votes to keep Robin Hood Lanes, three votes for a new Walgreens. There were also 15 people who said they didn't care one way or the other.

On the new Facebook page, Terrano is asking for volunteers who would be willing to lead petition drives. She has drives planned Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in front of Robin Hood.

"I hate to see something that's provided so much entertainment be replaced by something like Walgreens that we don't need here," Terrano said, adding that there is another drugstore, Bartell Drugs, just across the street.

"But you know," said Terrano, "money talks."

Terrano will provide all of the signatures to Kerne Lien with the City of Edmonds, a member of the city's planning department.
