Man Killed By Police Along Highway 99 Near Edmonds
The roadway was closed much of the day Monday due to an investigation.

EDMONDS, WA - An eight-block stretch of Highway 99 in Lynnwood near Edmonds was closed for much of the day Monday due to an officer-involved shooting.
The highway was closed between State Road 524 and 188th Street Southwest. That stretch is just east of Edmonds Community College.
The shooting happened before 10 a.m. Monday. The Lynnwood officers opened fire after the man allegedly charged at them while holding a knife. The man had been running through traffic and caused a disturbance in a nearby carpet store shortly before he was killed.

The officer who shot the man, a three-year veteran of Lynwood police, was placed on administrative leave.
