Rachel's Challenge Programs to Begin in Edmonds School District This Month
The program, named after a young girl killed during the Columbine High School shootings, is for both students and adults. The program hopes to make positive changes to the way people treat each other.

In 2011-12, 11 schools in the Edmonds School District are participating in Rachel's Challenge, a nationwide program that teaches and motivates students to make positive changes in the way they treat others.
Rachel Scott was the first person killed April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School in Colorado. It was her family that realized her dream of starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion through the Rachel's Challenge organization.
Rachel’s Challenge is not just for students. Parents, caregivers and the community are all invited to become involved.
