Recount Called In WA-2 Congressional Race
The difference between the second and third-place finishers is too close to call, according to Snohomish County.

EDMONDS, WA - More than three weeks after the Aug. 7 primary election, the 2nd Congressional District race is still undecided. The race was so close, the Snohomish County Canvassing Board will meet next week to authorize a recount for the second place spot.
Incumbent Democrat Rick Larsen sailed through the primary with 62 percent of the vote. But Democrat Collin Carlson and Libertarian Brian Luke are still locked in a near tie in Snohomish County. Carlson earned about 8.9 percent of the vote and Luke earned 8.6 percent.
The hand recount could get underway as soon as next Thursday. Snohomish County turnout in the primary was about 37 percent, which is about average for an even-year primary election.
