Ripe For the Pickin': Country Farms Opens in Edmonds Today
The popular fruit-and-veggie market boasts a large selection and great prices.
A little bit of rain on Thursday didn't keep the faithful from opening day of the spring and summer season at , a family run tradition at the corner of 228th Street SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds.
Their goal: fresh fresh and vegetables at prices considerably lower than supermarkets.

Citrus products come from California, but other seasonal products—such as apples and onions, to name only two—are grown in Washington.

The stand in Edmonds is run by Frank Marks and Cynthia Delp and their son, Aaron Sloan.
It was 45 years ago that the Waters family opened the Country Farms stand, which now also has other family owned locations in Everett and Lake Stevens in Snohomish County, Burlington in Skagit County and Bellingham in Whatcom County.

The store was built by Jay and Lou Waters, said Rod Waters, Country Farms owner.
In addition to fruits and vegetables, Country Farms also stocks plants and shrubs.
