SnoCo Assessor Seeks Re-Election
Snohomish County Assessor Linda Hjelle this week announced her re-election bid to extend her 26-year career in the assessor's office.

From Linda Hjelle Campaign: Snohomish County Assessor Linda Hjelle announced today that she will seek re-election. Hjelle was first elected in 2015 after serving in the Assessor’s Office for over 26 years.
“Leading the Assessor’s Office over the last three years has been a great honor. I’m proud of the work we’ve done to implement innovative improvements and provide information to the public in a variety of ways. I’m excited to continue building an effective Assessor’s Office for all of Snohomish County,” said Hjelle.
Hjelle’s re-election bid is endorsed by Snohomish County leaders on both sides of the aisle, a testament to her strong leadership and service focused vision. Endorsers include County Executive Dave Somers, Councilmembers Sam Low, Nate Nehring, and Terry Ryan, Sheriff Ty Trenary, Clerk Sonya Kraski, Treasurer Kirke Sievers, and longtime Everett leader Gary Weikel.

“Linda has been a great public servant for nearly three decades. Residents across our County have benefited from her earnest drive to create an exceptional, community focused Assessor’s Office. With Linda as County Assessor, excellent service will remain the office’s top focus,” said Executive Somers.
Hjelle has prioritized creating a modern Assessor’s Office. Under her leadership, the Assessor’s Office is in the process of implementing state-of-the-art appraisal and administrative software. Additionally, she led the way developing a new online tax calculator tool that has greatly improved property tax transparency for property owners.

While serving as Assessor, Hjelle has been an unwavering advocate for Snohomish County residents, testifying in Olympia on their behalf, and by serving as Appraisal Committee Chair for the Washington State Association of County Assessors and as an elected Board Member for the Washington Association of County Officials.
Hjelle previously served as Chief Deputy Assessor and was instrumental in implementing cost-saving techniques and efficiency reviews, utilizing the latest developments in technology to improve accuracy and better serve residents.
“Over the last twenty-nine years, I’ve spent every day working to create an accessible, responsive, and transparent Assessor’s Office. This campaign is the perfect opportunity to hear from voters firsthand about how we can continue to meet our goals,” said Hjelle.
Hjelle is also a dedicated community leader who is a member of numerous local organizations and volunteer efforts including Soroptimists, League of Women Voters, Fire District 17 Christmas House, National Women’s Political Caucus, and the Granville Grange.
A life-long Washingtonian, Hjelle lives outside Granite Falls with her husband, Rick who is a retired Snohomish County career firefighter. They have one grown son.
