Snohomish County Sheriff Seeks Shooting Suspect

The man fled from a store in Everett after shooting a clerk and stealing a can of beer.

EVERETT, WA - Snohomish Sheriff's deputies are trying to track down a man who shot at a store clerk and stole a beer from a store at 11801 Highway 99 in Everett Thursday night.

The suspect entered the store wearing a balaclava over his face. The clerk asked him to remove it, but the suspect refused, so the clerk dialed 911. Then, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot at the clerk. A bystander also attempted confront the suspect, but neither he nor the clerk were injured.

The suspect then stole a beer and, according to witnesses, fired shots into the air as he fled from the scene. Police and K9 units tried to track him down, but came up empty.

The sheriff's office described the suspect as a "light-skinned black male," but no further description was available.
