Snohomish Deputies Kill Man After Pursuit

During the pursuit "shots were fired and the male driver was struck," the sheriff''s office reported.

BOTHELL, WA - Snohomish County deputies shot and killed a man Tuesday night during a pursuit. The pursuit stemmed from a disturbance at a home near Edmonds Community College.

Near 10:15 p.m., deputies went to a home near the intersection of 196th Place Southwest and 6th Drive Southeast to investigate the disturbance. When they got there, a pickup truck sped from the scene, and a deputy followed in pursuit.

Deputies tried to stop the vehicle using a PIT (pursuit intervention technique), but they were unsuccessful. It's unclear how the shooting broke out, but police said "shots were fired and the male driver was struck" when he stopped near North Damson Road and Filbert Road, northwest of Thrashser's Corner in Bothell.

The man died at Harborview in Seattle. A woman who was in the truck was not injured, according to police.

The Snhomish County Mulitple Agency Response Team, a coalition of county detectives, will investigate the incident.
