Teaching a Old Sweater New Tricks
Have you ever tried to teach your old sweater how to do a
new trick? It can be more hassle then you want. On January 16, 2014 for the
Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk, Stunningly Strange Gallery will be hosting the
very talented Deb Shannon and her recycled cashmere accessories. Come see the
new tricks she taught some old cashmere sweaters!
Shannon has been working with textiles ever since she was
little. “I learned to crochet at age seven, knit at twenty five, and continue
producing garments today,” said Shannon. “My current passion is sewing with
Reclaimed Cashmere sweaters. It is luxurious, soft, warm, and breathes indoors
and out. It is addictive!”

Growing up, Shannon made her own cloths, always finding
inspiration from her family. Later in
life she earned a Clothing and Textile degree, which helped her get into the
garment industry. Shannon currently resides in the Greenwood neighbor of
Seattle WA.
Stunningly Strange Gallery is located at 407 Main Street Edmonds
