Gesture, Line and Shadow - an Installation of Wire Sculpture by Shelli Markee at ZINC April 21-May 16
Shelli Markee creates wire sculptures inspired by the lush abundance of spring. Entitled “What Spring Does” from the poem by Pablo Neruda, each piece is fluid line further enlivened by cast shadows like faded ink. Markee, a silversmith and jewelry designer, was encouraged to create this installation of large scale pieces by ZINC owner Laura Zeck over a year and a half ago on a visit to purchase jewelry for the boutique. . This will be the first showing on a grand scale of Markee’s sculptures. More at ZincArtObject.com.
