Whidbey Island Naval Station Lockdown Lifted After Gunfire Report
There were reports of gunfire around 5 a.m. but no evidence has yet been found at the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.

WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA – The Naval Air Station closed its gates early Saturday morning after reports of gunfire at the base. No evidence has yet been found to back up the reports.
The shelter-in-place order was lifted after a couple of hours though the base says that access is still limited.
"Out of an abundance of caution, the base was secured," a spokesman for the base said on Twitter.

The station says that it closed the gates and went on lockdown after report of gunfire around 5 a.m..
