$4,000 in Home Appliances Stolen, Two More Burglaries and One Break-in Attempt in April 5 Through April 8 Blotter

A roundup of Enumclaw police reports from Thursday, April 5 through Sunday, April 8.

Thursday, April 5

Aid Call: Police assisted Enumclaw Fire with an aid call at a location on Griffin Avenue at 10:16 a.m.

Ammunition Found: A 60 mm mortar round was found at a storage unit on Wells Street at 3:27 p.m. and taken to the police station. Police turned it over to the Washington State Patrol bomb squad.

Burglary: Police received a report of a residential burglary on S.E. 400th Street at 3:54 p.m. A washer, dryer, stove and furnace valued together at about $4,000 were taken. The back door was also damaged.

Suspicious Circumstances: Police received a report at 4:29 p.m. that a resident on Harmony Lane had video taped damage to their yard. Police made contact to take a report.

Malicious Mischief: Police received a report at 7:10 p.m. that a pole and some brackets were broken off of equipment at Dwight Garrett Park on Porter Street. The complainant also advised of jagged edges that may pose a safety hazard. Police determined rails were broken and that it was part of the skate park. The city parks department has been notified.

Noise Complaint: Police received multiple calls around 10:59 p.m. regarding loud music from the Crystal Saloon on Roosevelt Avenue. The responding officer found the soundproof shutters were up and the noise level was reasonable. The officer did a 10-minute check of the area and found the complaint was unfounded.

Friday, April 6

Prowler: Police received a report at 3:49 a.m. that someone was heard trying to open a resident's door on Dickson Avenue. The responding officer did an area check and found nothing. There was extra patrol for the night.

Suspicious Circumstances: Police received a report at 1:33 p.m. of a suspicious man wearing a blue cap and jacket with a backpack on, in the area of Farman Street at Battersby Avenue. The responding officer made contact and found there was not a problem; the man would be returning to his home in town.

Burglary: Police received a report of a burglary on 244th Avenue S.E. at 3:21 p.m.

Police received a report of a burglary through a window at a residence on the 2000 block of Grand Fir Drive at 8:36 p.m. An iPod was taken.

Malicious Mischief: Police received a report at 5:27 p.m. that a back window was broken out of a vehicle parked on Davis Avenue. Police reported at 10:03 p.m. that the suspect was located and agreed to make restitution.

Noise: Police received a loud music complaint from a property on the 1900 block of Cole Street at 6:17 p.m. They agreed to turn it down.

Egged: Police received a request at 11:40 p.m. for extra patrol at Pinnacle Estates due to some vehicles being egged earlier in the evening.

Saturday, April 7

Domestic Dispute: Police responded to a domestic dispute between a mother and daughter at a property on Semanski Street at 1:55 a.m. The daughter went to stay with an uncle for the night.

Unwanted Person: Police responded to an unwanted person complaint at a property on Myrtine Street at 11:04 a.m. The subject was trespassed from that residence.

Pit Bull: Police responded to a report of a possible pit bull living on a property on Merritt Avenue at 6:52 p.m. They found the pit bull and forwarded information to King County Animal Control.

Driving Offense: A vehicle was impounded and the driver cited for driving without a valid license following a traffic stop on First Street at Griffin Avenue at 10:54 p.m.

Sunday, April 8

DUI: One person was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on Griffin Avenue at 1:21 a.m.

Accident: Police responded to a three-car motor vehicle accident on Porter Street at 4:24 a.m.

Assault: Police responded to an assault on Cole Street at 1:01 p.m. The male half was leaving the residence.

Attempted Break-in: Police responded to a malicious mischief report at a residence on Florence Street at 7:21 p.m. The door looked as if a break-in was attempted but no entry was made.

Noise: Police responded to a loud music complaint at a property on Griffin Avenue at 7:39 p.m. Nothing was heard on arrival.
