9 Dogs Die In Snohomish County Fire: Report

The fire broke out inside a pet sitter's home, authorities said.

SNOHOMISH, WA - Nine dogs died inside a home here after authorities say a space heater sparked a fire. The fire broke out in the home of a woman who was working as a pet sitter, which is why there were so many animals inside, the Everett Herald reported.

The nine dogs' remains were discovered inside the home. Fire officials believe more may have died after escaping the home with burns and smoke inhalation.

The fire happened Tuesday near Blackmans Lake.
