Annual Distracted Driving – Alcohol Day at Enumclaw High School

Black Diamond Police Department Hosts Pre-Prom Distracted Driving, Alcohol and Drug Awareness Event for High School students

WHAT: Black Diamond Police Department are hosting their Annual Distracted Driving –Alcohol Day event for Enumclaw High School students with collaboration from the Enumclaw Police Department, Washington State Patrol, Rainer Foothills Wellness Foundation and 911 Driving School, to allow students an eye-opening, firsthand experience of how drugs, alcohol and distracted driving can compromise their safety. The event will include distracted driving golf cart course simulation, a field sobriety test and in-class safety instruction. A crashed car will also be displayed at the event to remind students of the dangerous consequences of driving distracted or intoxicated.

WHY: To teach young drivers about the dangerous consequences and safety risks of distracted driving by allowing them to experience firsthand and to empower young drivers to form safe driving habits from the start.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 23, 8:00 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.

WHO: The event will be hosted by the Enumclaw Police Department, and Black Diamond Police Department, Rainer Foothills Wellness Foundation and 911 Driving School. The following spokespersons are available for interviews before, during and after the event:
