Vehicle Prowl, Burglary and Suspicious Text Messages in Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 Blotter

Friday, August 3

Domestic Incident: Police assisted the Sheriff's Office with a domestic incident at a residence on the 2900 block of SE 408th Street at 12:27 a.m.

Theft: Police took a report at the Lee Hotel on Griffin Avenue at 12:56 a.m. that an unspecified amount of cash was stolen from a resident's room.

Attempted Suicide: Police received a second hand report at 2:27 p.m. that a man had taken 8 ibuprofen and was somewhere near a bridge on SE Mud Mountain Road. The responding officers located the man and he was transported for medical attention. A suicide note was later found by another acquaintance.

Assault: Police received a report at 2:40 p.m. of a fight between juveniles that occurred prior on the 300 block of Chinook Avenue. A report from the victim was forthcoming.

Suspicious Text Messages: Police received a report at 10:44 p.m. from a woman who was receiving text messages regarding someone who may have been taken against their will and beat up. The texts ask for money. Officers looked into the messages and communicated with the subject as well; they were not able to locate a specific address or vehicle as indicated by the text messages.

Saturday, August 4

Egged: More than one vehicle was egged in the area of the 600 block of Harmony Lane as reported at 6:40 a.m. The owners had cleaned the eggs off and there was no damage.

Burglary: Police received a report at 11:22 a.m. that a circular saw and leaf blower were stolen from a garden shed on a property on the 1400 block of Lafromboise Street. The padlock had been cut.

Vehicle Prowl: Police received a report at 3:28 p.m. that a vehicle parked at Sacred Heart Church on Griffin Avenue was broken into and a purse and its contents were taken.

Traffic Arrest: One person was in violation of third-degree driving while license suspended following a traffic stop on Semanski Avenue at Initial Avenue at 8:37 p.m. The subject also had a felony warrant for Puyallup and was taken to Puyallup.
