Bicyclist Who Died On SR 169 Identified

Lei Hong, 54, died Monday while riding along SR 169 near Black Diamond.

BLACK DIAMOND, WA - State police have released the identity of the woman killed Monday morning along SR 169 in Black Diamond. Lei Hong, 54, of Maple Valley, died after colliding with a Ford F450 truck near Southeast 288th Street, which is just north of the Black Diamond Natural Area.

The incident happened just before 10 a.m. Hong was riding southbound along SR 169, state police reported, when she apparently veered into the northbound lane and hit the truck. A 29-year-old man from Snoqualmie was driving the F450. SR 169 was closed at 288th for about three hours due to the investigation, according to state police.

Washington State Patrol is still investigating the cause of the incident, but have not made any arrests in Hong's death.
