Blue Graffiti Marks up Town and Woman Rams Husband's Truck in Fight in Weekend Police Blotter

A roundup of Enumclaw police reports from Friday, October 14 through Sunday, October 16.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Enumclaw Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.  

Friday, October 14

Strange Behavior: A resident on May Court reported at 7:18 a.m. that a male neighbor kept calling with strange comments and was acting strangely to the point of making her uncomfortable. He appeared to be under the influence but was inside his own home. The resident was advised to call police if anything else occurred.

Juvenile Problem: Police responded to a problem at a property at 8:12 a.m. that involved threats. A subject was located and brought to the city jail, with a courtesy transport to his parents' home.

Not Intoxicated: Police looked into a report of an intoxicated individual exiting a vehicle in a parking lot on Roosevelt Avenue at 12:14 p.m. and then staggering into a nearby store. The person was found to have an open container of non-alcoholic beverage with them and has multiple sclerosis, which causes them to have trouble walking.

Assault: A fight between two men was reported at a property on Watson Street at 12:23 p.m. The suspect left the scene. The victim had outstanding warrants with Enumclaw police and initially left the scene as well but was later located at a traffic stop. He received aid and was taken to St. Elizabeth for his injuries. He declined to press charges for the assault.

Graffiti: The words "what are you looking at" was found painted in blue paint on a building on Wells Street. Police believe it is not gang related, but extra patrols have been requested.

Deli Tray Theft: Police responded to a report of a theft of a food tray valued at $70 from QFC at 3 p.m. It's unclear if the subject who picked up the tray knew they hadn't paid for it yet. Police were unable to get valid identification for the subject, and store video didn't provide a usable image.

Construction Reminder: Due to construction at the intersection of Griffin Avenue and Garrett Street, drivers are reminded that they can't turn northbound onto Garrett Street; only southbound traffic from Griffin to Washington is permitted.

Public Drinking: Police responded to a report of three people drinking to the rear of a parking lot on Roosevelt Avenue at 9:41 p.m. They were asked to dispose of their drinks and move on; they complied.

DUI: One person was arrested for DUI on Roosevelt Avenue at 11:49 p.m.

Saturday, October 15

Vehicle Theft: Medication was reportedly taken from an unlocked vehicle parked on Roosevelt Avenue at 1:01 a.m. There are no suspects.

Assault: Police received a report from a complainant that they were assault at the Expo Center parking lot sometime before 1:15 a.m. They did not wish to pursue the matter, however.

An assault reportedly occurred at a residence on Porter Street at 7:50 p.m. involving two men. Minor injuries were reported. The victime declined to press charges.

Reckless Driving: Police responded to a report of a recklessly driven vehicle on southbound State Route 169 at 4:56 p.m. that continued onto Porter Street in excess of 50 mph. An officer stopped the vehicle and warned the driver for speeding and reckless driving.

Graffiti: Graffiti in blue spray paint was found on a building at Marshall Street at Cole Avenue at 5:19 p.m. 

Assault/Domestic Violence: Police responded to an out-of-control individual at a property on Watson Street North at 6:45 p.m. They had reportedly broken down a door and damaged other property while in a temper tantrum. They had also kicked the reporting party. They were irate and uncooperative when taken to the police station for transfer to a detention center in Seattle.

Police assisted King County Sheriff's deputies who were responding to reports of a female who had been drinking and was fighting with her family at a residence on 284th Avenue S.E. at 9:41 p.m. She was seen ramming her Ford Explorer SUV into her husband's semi truck in the driveway.

Minor had Drugs: Police arrested a female juvenile following a traffic stop on Roosevelt Avenue at Watson Street North at 9 p.m. for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. She was released to her aunt.

Noise at Crystal Saloon: Police responded to a loud music complaint at the Crystal Saloon at 10:57 p.m. and found the soundproof shutters were in place. They advised the staff to turn down the music.

Sunday, October 16

Beer Theft: Two cases of beer were reportedly stolen from a business on Roosevelt Avenue at 12:58 a.m. The suspect was seen giving one case to someone in a white vehicle parking in the lot; they fled on foot with the other case. There are no suspects at this time.

Noise Complaint: Officers responded to a report of a loud party at a property on Watson Street North at 2:47 a.m. There was no party when police arrived; two people had left priort to police arrival and broke glass to a fire extinguisher box.

Police responded to a report of loud banging and screaming coming from an apartment on Warner Avenue West at 4:28 a.m. It was someone assisting a woman with a migraine headache.

Graffiti: Blue graffiti was reported on a business building on Roosevelt Avenue at 7:48 a.m. 

Multiple businesses on Cole Street at Railroad Avenue were reportedly tagged with blue spray paint. 

Juvenile Problem: Police responded to a report of two youths on the roof of the J.J. Smith Elementary School building at 12:45 p.m. Officers contacted one of their parents and they were released to the parent.

Urinating in Public: A man in an apartment on Watson Street North was seen urinating outside the building at 7:36 p.m. Police tried to contact the man but there was no answer. The complainant said he was very intoxicated.

Domestic Dispute: A verbal argument between a brother and sister was reported at a property on Myrtine Street at 7:56 p.m.
