Schroeder was named to the post last week. The boardβs previous appointee,
Tamarah Knapp Hancock, apparently was not qualified because she did not live
within the districtβs boundaries.
Hancock had been appointed in January over Schroeder after Cathy Dahlquist, who had been elected in 2009, resigned to serve in the state Legislature. Ironically, Schroeder was picked this time over Dahlquist.
Schroeder, having served as secretary of Sunrise Elementary School's PTA this year, is also running for the position in the November elections.
The next regular meeting of the school board will be July 18.
