Global Climate Change---Misconceptions

Hello----I though that I should write a short note since so many misconceptions are surrounding the current unprecedented cold weather  presently in Europe. 

It is without a doubt that we are warming up the earth through emissions of "greenhouse" gases.  That issue is settled so let's finally move on.

Now----what is in discussion among scientists and not settled is what kinds of weather will result from this man-made disruption to the atmosphere.

Unfortunately the predictions are as varied as the scientists that are currently studying the problem.  Some think that even though the average temperature of winter will increase, there is the possibility of stronger, extreme and unusual cold snaps in the warmer winters (like what is happening in Europe right now).

Or-----hurricanes might get stronger, but with fewer of them---or---more?

Or---more droughts---more forest fires---more ruined crops?.

Right now the jury is out on what can happen-----but---lets stop the nonsense of claiming that the extreme cold events show that global warming is not happening.

Now we need to move on to how to mitigate the damages we are causing!!
