With the Corral Pass road (fsr 7174) closed to motor vehicles this year, it is a great time to cycle it. If you like to ride up Mt Peak, this climb will give you that kind of grade, only much longer. I made it the first three (out of 5) miles and ran out of time, so will have to return for the spectacular view from the top. All of those three miles were very steep and I never got out of the lowest gear. For those of you who understand gears, I had an 18 tooth Mountain Tamer chainring on the front and a 36t cog on the cassette.
You can drive the first mile of 7174 and then park at the gate. There is ample turnaround room.
For those interested in seeing this ride, here is a video. I'll post the last two miles if I get back this month.
