No Aggressive Panhandling: Police responded to Roosevelt Avenue at Garrett Street at 3:19 p.m. by the Veteran's Memorial for a report of an aggressive panhandler. They were warned to leave the area.

Involuntary Commitment: Police and fire responded to the 4200 block of 264th Avenue S.E. at 1:43 a.m. for a report that a subject was suicidal. They were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Suspicious Activity: Police received a report at 6:45 p.m. that a man was seen entering a parked vehicle on the 100 block of Roosevelt Avenue with a Slim Jim and then removing a dog from the vehicle before leaving in a black Mazda sedan. Police received no calls regarding a possible theft of the dog.

Disturbance: Police responded to the 3000 block of Porter Street at 10:10 p.m. for a reported heated verbal dispute. One party was leaving for the night.

Friday, Dec. 14

New Marijuana Laws: Police responded to a parking lot on the 1500 block of McHugh Avenue at 4:12 p.m. for a report that people were smoking marijuana inside a green truck. The responding officer made contact and advised them of the .

Shoplifting: Police received a report at 7:14 p.m. that a shoplifting incident occurred at a business on the 800 block of Roosevelt Avenue.

Driving Arrest: Police arrested a driver for physical control after responding to the 100 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 11:59 p.m. for a report of a possibly intoxicated person inside a running vehicle.

Saturday, Dec. 15

Burglary: Police received a report at 1:52 p.m. of a burglary to a vacant house on the 2800 block of Sun Mountain Drive.

Purse Robbery: Police received a report at 3:03 p.m. that a strong arm robbery of a purse occurred while a victim was walking to the mailboxes on the 2500 block of Roosvelt Avenue. Police were able to verify the address and a last name of the alleged victim but had not been able to make contact to verify further information.

Fight: Police responded to the 1500 block of Railroad Street at 11:33 p.m. for a fight in progress. No one wanted to press charges.
