Drug Arrest, an Assault and Attempted Truck Break-ins in April 9 and April 10 Blotter

A roundup of Enumclaw police reports from Monday, April 9 and Tuesday, April 10.

Monday, April 9

Unwanted Person: Police received a request at 1:36 p.m. for help regarding the behavior of an extended guest at a residence on Sun Mountain Drive. The person was gone upon police arrival and the matter was settled.

Suspicious Circumstances: Police received a report at 11:49 a.m. that an older model maroon van with two men in their 50s was parked in front of a residence on Elmont Avenue. They were seen getting out and walking around the property but did not speak to the reporting party when they saw her; they left the area.

Police received a report at 7:31 p.m. that evidence of drug use was found in the area of Randall Place. Police were told that drug paraphernalia was found on the trail in the area. Patrol will increase.

Police received a report at 7:38 p.m. that someone was trying to break in to trucks parked at a residence on the 3000 block of Gossard Place. No entry was made but extra patrol was requested.

Possible Hit and Run: Police were advised at 11:16 p.m. that a possible hit and run occurred on Roosevelt Avenue prior involving a green minivan with a female driver. It was unclear if there was a victim vehicle. The suspect vehicle was last seen in the area of Griffin Avenue at Roosevelt Avenue.

Tuesday, April 10

Disturbance: Police responded to a school on Semanski Street at 12:39 p.m. for a report of an unruly student. An officer made contact and the student was released to a parent. (Editor's Note: It's unclear from the reports if this was Enumclaw High School or Enumclaw Middle School.)

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident reported to police at 1:38 p.m. that an obnoxious odor was coming from a vacant lot on Harding Street where the owner was spraying for weeks and that they may not be using the appropriate chemicals. The responding officer found the owner was using the proper product and the odor did not appear to be more than normal for this use.

Dog Freed: Police received a report at 5:04 p.m. that a dog was caught in the fence at a location on Charwila Lane. The responding officer was able to get the dog free.

Drug Offense: A man was arrested for possession of drugs and paraphernalia after police received a report at 5:38 p.m. that he was attempting to sell 'bud' in a film container to two women.

Shoplifting: Police received a report at 6:49 p.m. from an employee at a business on Roosevelt Avenue that a shoplifting had occurred. After an area check, no suspects were found.

Assault: Police were advised at 8:18 p.m. by King County that an assault occurred at a location on Griffin Avenue at Railroad Street. The victim did not wish to pursue the matter when police contacted her.
