Email to the Editor: Parking Woes Wreck Post-Hike Bliss

The following email was submitted to Patch by Rory Robison.

For most of my life, I have enjoyed hiking Mt. Peak, but the other day I finished my hike and noticed a parking ticket from a King County Sheriff's deputy. The ticket is considered a traffic infraction and will go against my driving record.

When I got home, I looked up where King County recommends people park, and it was exactly where I was parked on the corner of 276th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 472nd Street. I am outraged by the poor judgement of the officer considering there are no fog lines on the county roads near Mt. Peak and it is an established parking area for the hike.

I guess at this point I would like to know (how) to reach out to either King County Parks, or the King County Sheriff's Office to figure out where I can safely park without having to worry about getting any more parking tickets. I have tried both with no luck.
