Emergency Blood Drive Monday in Enumclaw
Supply is low; donating takes less than an hour.
An emergency blood drive will take place Monday, Aug. 22, at
St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw.
A spike in the demand for blood in the past two weeks has reduced the supply in Western Washington by 20 percent.
People can donate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the bus parked on the Jensen Street side of the hospital at 1455 Battersby Ave.
Walk-ins are welcome.

A news release from Sue Meland, marketing manager for the
Franciscan Health System, goes on to say that:
1. It takes more than 900 donor registrations every day to
maintain an operational blood supply in Western Washington.

2. Donating blood takes less than an hour and because blood can be broken down into its three components, each donation, about a pint, can potentially save three lives.
3. Type O negative blood is considered the universal blood type and can be transfused to any patient suffering from trauma when they are rushed to a hospital with no time to type that person’s blood.
