Enumclaw Expo Center Goes to the Dogs This Weekend

Labs from all over the Northwest compete for American Kennel Club points.

About 200 dogs from all over the Pacific Northwest are competing this weekend for American Kennel Club points at the Enumclaw Expo Center.

The labrador retrievers will be judged on how good-looking they are, and some will also be judged on how well they behave.

The event is free for dog lovers to watch. Gates open at 9 a.m. each day.

This is the second year the Puget Sound Labrador-Retriever Association has held the event at the Expo Center. But Linda Maffett of Bellingham said it may be the last because there is discussion about moving the King County Fair to the first weekend in August. That happens to be the weekend the local club's event is sanctioned by the AKC, and it can be a "little daunting to change it," she said.
